 A Marine leans back against his pack, boots dusted from miles already behind him. It’s a rare pause. A moment to breathe.

He tears open his MRE, the familiar crinkle cutting through the silence. Nothing fancy—just fuel. But today, there’s something extra.

A strong, dark cup of coffee fills the air—bold, grounding, exactly what he needs. He takes a sip, letting the warmth settle in. Then reaches into his pocket… pulling out a small piece of chocolate.

Not standard issue. Sent from home.

For a second, he’s not out here. He’s back with the people who matter. The ones waiting. The reason he keeps going.
